We’ve compiled a list of the must-attend concerts this week in beautiful Beantown. Now that that’s taken care, just one problem remains—choosing among them. 

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2019 

C P E BACH SINFONIA E MINOR

Concert Details:  Join the Orpheus Baroque Stockholm Ensemble in a night to remember. The ensemble, performing Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach’s Sinfonia in E Minor, will play period instruments (as they’ve done since they were founded in 2015). The performance will be led by Italian harpsichordist and conductor Luca Guglielmi. Can’t make it on Thursday the 17th? Catch the performance on Friday, Oct. 18 or Saturday, Oct. 19.

BOSTON PHILHARMONIC: MOZART, BRAHMS, BARTOK

Concert Details:  Enjoy your musical journey through Mozart, Brahms, and Bartok’s captivating masterpieces as conducted by Benjamin Zander. Can’t make the Thursday performance? Enjoy the Saturday, Oct. 19 or the Sunday, Oct. 20 performance at the NEC’s Jordan’s Hall and the Sanders Theatre, respectively.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2019 

BOSTON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA: BACH, BEETHOVEN, BRAHMS, AND MORE

Concert Details:  Conducted by eminent Hungarian-born pianist András Schiff (who made his BSO debut in 1983), this performance will be led by Bach’s F minor concerto and Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1 from the keyboard. His program will include Brahms, Bartók, and more. Can’t make it to the Friday performance? Enjoy the Saturday, Oct. 19 performance!

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2019 

COMMUNITY CHAMBER CONCERT

Concert Details:  The Community Chamber Concerts will put on a free performance at The Great Hall of the Codman Square Health Center on Sunday. The program is set to last approximately one hour and will be followed by a coffee and dessert reception for the audience and the musicians.
