If you’re anything like us, you never want December to end. Why? Because of all the classical music concerts gracing concert halls all around the city! The holiday season brings December, and with it, brings notably one of the best classical music concert months in the entire year. Our advice? Enjoy it thoroughly! We’ve created a list of must-attend concerts happening this week in New York, and we suggest you absorb as many of them as you can! 

MONDAY, DECEMBER 16, 2019 

250 YEARS OF BEETHOVEN, CELEBRATED!

Concert Details:  Enjoy a musical journey celebrating the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven’s birth as directed by Gerard Schwarz (former music director of the Mostly Mozart concert series at Lincoln Center). The program features internationally recognized artists including pianist Tian Jiang and Kevin Short to perform three of Beethoven’s most important works.

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2019 

HANDEL’S MESSIAH 

Concert Details:  Join the New York Philharmonic in a holiday season classic and a beloved Philharmonic tradition, Handel’s Messiah. With dazzling vocals, splendid choral writing, and instrumental fireworks, it’ll be a concert you won’t want to miss. Can’t make the Tuesday performance? Enjoy additional concerts on Wednesday, De. 18; Thursday, Dec. 19; Friday, Dec. 20; and Saturday, Dec. 21.

1720: BACH’S BRANDENBURG CONCERTOS

Concert Details:  Enjoy a musical journey through Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos by the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center featuring a host of talented musicians such as Francisco Fullana, Hyeyeon Park, Bella Hristova, Arnaud Sussmann, and more.

HSIN-I HUANG, PIANO

Concert Details:   Taiwanese pianist Hsin-I Huang first debuted in Weill Recital Hall for his Carnegie Hall debut as winner of the Bradshaw and Buono International Competition (high school division). Now, he returns, an internationally-recognized pianist with two solo albums published.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 19, 2019 

ALEXANDER KOBRIN, PIANO

Concert Details:  Winner of the Van Cliburn Piano Competition (2005), pianist Alexander Kobrin makes his Carnegie Hall debut as part of the Yamaha Artist Services presentation, performing Beethoven’s Piano sonata No.4 in E-flat Major, Schumann’s Waldszenen, and Brahms’ Piano Sonata No. 3 in F minor.

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS THREE TENORS!
