8 Classical Music Concerts in NYC: This Week’s Roundup

It’s the most wonderful time of the year—December in New York City. And sure, while the chilly weather, exceptional winter fashion, and all-around winter-wonderland vibes buzzing in the city are enough to get you in the holiday spirit, that’s not what brings us the most joy in December. It’s the huge influx of classical music concerts. This week is no exception. 

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 10, 2019 

BEHZOD ABDURAIMOV, PIANO

Concert Details:  Known as the “most perfectly accomplished pianist of his generation” (The Independent), Abduraimov takes listeners on a journey through the storytelling of three master composers in his December recital at Carnegie Hall. His program includes work from Chopin, Debussy, and Mussorgsky.

In addition to her concertos, she also performs selections from Cinderella and Siren Sounds

THE CECILIA CHORUS OF NEW YORK WITH ORCHESTRA

Concert Details:  The 150-voice Cecilia Chorus of New York, comprised of orchestra and soloists, will perform J.S. Bach’s Christmas Oratorio on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at 8 PM on the Perelman Stage. The performance will feature vocalists Mireille Asselin and Annie Rosen and will be directed by Mark Shapiro.
