A Trilogy of Podcasts

Did you know that legendary pianist Glenn Gould made a Solitary Trilogy: Three Sound Documentaries in 1966-1977? We’ve created a Trilogy of Podcasts for listeners in the spirit of Gould including his Solitary Trilogy, Living Music with Nadia Sirota, and the TAK Editions Podcast. The first is about what it means to withdraw, and the following two introduce the listener to innovative composers and musicians of today.

Glenn Gould Solitary Trilogy: Three Sound Documentaries

While Gould called these his “Three Sound Documentaries” in 1966-77, they might have been referred to as podcasts if he made them today. The legendary pianist’s Solitary Trilogy has never been more relevant. Gould said of the sound documentaries, they are "as close to an autobiographical statement as I intend to get in radio" and all three reflect the theme of "withdrawal from the world".

Living Music with Nadia Sirota

Following the success of her Peabody Award-winning podcast Meet the Composer, Nadia Sirota launches Living Music. Living Music is a new podcast, launched in 2020, that demystifies classical music, bringing its major players down to earth and into your headphones. Current episodes feature Missy Mazzoli, Claire Chase, Timo Andres, and Conrad Tao, to name a few.

TAK Editions Podcast

Members of TAK, an ambitious ensemble that “impresses with the organicity of their sound, their dynamism and virtuosity” (WQXR) interview composers Ann Cleare, Ashkan Behzadi, Natacha Diels and more.
