Classical Post Awards 2019: Attacca Quartet, Most Innovative Instrumentalist: Ensemble

Classical Post Awards Attacca Quartet

This dynamic ensemble, the Attacca Quartet, has been lauded as one of the most talented, exquisite, and remarkable quartets of the generation by critics and audiences alike. They’ve won and been nominated for a number of awards (including their 2020 Grammy nomination with Caroline Shaw) and are consistently in-demand and sought after for performance around the world. Known for their mastery and maturity beyond their years, the Attacca Quartet is an ensemble that’s been succeeding since its inception.

Though they’re currently serving as the Ensemble-in-Residence at the School of Music at Texas State University, their wildly busy 2019/2020 tour schedule will demand performances in every corner of the world, leading them from White Lights Festival at Lincoln Center to the MiTO Festival in Italy, the Sydney Festival in Australia, and several more tours throughout Asia, the UK, Norway, and more. Their Grammy Nominated Album (featuring Caroline Shaw) has received critical acclaim from even more sources than just the Grammy nominee results—in fact, it’s lauded as the “Best Albums of 2019” so far on NPR.
