Guest conductors Julian Wachner, Eric Jacobsen, and Miguel Harth-Bedoya will conduct three Bach choral masterworks: Mass in B minor, St. John Passion, and St. Matthew Passion.

On April 26, 2020, the Musical Fund Society celebrates its 200th anniversary with the creation and sharing of music by nationally recognized composers. Stephen Jaffe, one of the four winning composers for the event, will be writing for the Network for New Music Ensemble this year. We were able to catch up with the acclaimed composer on his life and anticipation for the special event.

New York City’s premier classical music venue, Carnegie Hall, recently announced its 2020-2021 season, which kicks off Wednesday, October 7. Ray Chen is redefining what it means to be a classical musician in the 21st Century. The 30-year-old violinist was profiled as “one to watch” by The Strad and Gramophone magazines, and his profile includes a feature in the Forbes list of 30 most influential Asians under 30, appearing in the major “Mozart in the Jungle,” and even a multi-year partnership with Giorgio Armani. 

The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center is presenting a fabulous winter festival featuring the complete Beethoven String Quartets by the Danish String Quartet. Ligeti’s Bagatelles for Wind Quintet will feature Michael Brown, one of the famed pianists from Pianofest in the Hamptons.

Wei-Luo is a 20-year-old pianist who has been making waves since she was just 13. We’re always excited by young artists who are charting new paths in classical music, and Luo is one of them. She was the recipient of the 2018 Gilmore Young Artist Award, and in her most recent achievement, Luo performed at the Gilmore Festival in January as part of their Rising Stars series.
